Terms of use
These terms cover your use of the Platted app on iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. By using Platted you agree to them. They sit alongside our privacy policy, which explains what we do with your data.
The short version
- Platted helps you with your trains. The station and the train company have the final word.
- Predicted platforms are marked as predictions. Check the station screens before you board.
- Apple or Google handle payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.
- Your rights as a consumer are not affected by anything here.
Who we are
Platted is made by Weftworks Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17439248. Our registered office is shown on the Companies House register. You can reach us at [email protected].
What Platted does, and what it does not promise
Platted follows the trains you add and tells you about their platforms, times, delays and cancellations. It uses the live feed of train running information, published timetables, and its own record of how trains have run before.
That information comes from the railway, and it can be late, incomplete or wrong. A platform can change at the last minute. A predicted platform, shown dim or with a question mark, is our best guess from past runs and is never a confirmation. Likely arrival times, how busy a coach is, and whether you can make a change are estimates.
So please always check the station screens and listen to announcements before you board. Platted is a helper, not a replacement for them. We are not responsible if you miss a train, a connection or a claim because information in Platted was late or wrong, except where the law says we must be.
Your account
You sign in with Apple, or on Android with Apple or Google. An Apple sign in and a Google sign in are separate accounts, each with its own journeys, so use the same one on each of your devices. Your account is for you alone. Keep your phone and your Apple or Google account secure, as anyone with access to them can see your journeys.
Platted is not directed at children under 13, as our privacy policy says.
Your subscription
Platted is free to download and comes with a 7 day free trial. After that it is £1.99 a month or £14.49 a year. Next train from here works without a subscription.
- Who takes payment. On iPhone, Apple. On Android, Google. We never see your card details.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it before then. If you do not want to be charged when the trial ends, cancel before it ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel in your Apple ID settings on iPhone, or under Payments and subscriptions in Google Play on Android. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple and Google hold it, not us, so cancel it with them as well.
- Refunds. Apple and Google decide refunds under their own policies. On iPhone, ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, ask through Google Play.
- Price changes. If the price changes, Apple or Google tell you first, and you can cancel before it applies.
Adding journeys
Your forwarding address and the ticket photo and board scan features are for your own journeys. Only send us bookings and tickets that are yours, or that you have permission to share. Booking emails and ticket photos are deleted after 30 days; the journey details are kept, as the privacy policy explains.
Delay compensation
Platted can tell you when a delay may be long enough to claim, how late the train was, and where to claim. The train company decides every claim, under its own rules, and its figures are the ones that count. Platted does not make claims for you, and we cannot promise that a claim will succeed. The claim links take you to the train company's own website.
Fair use
Please use Platted as a passenger would. Do not:
- copy, collect or resell the information in Platted, or use it to build another service
- use automated tools to read Platted, or try to get round its daily limits
- try to break, overload or get into parts of Platted you are not meant to reach
- use your forwarding address to send us anything other than your bookings
The app, its design and its words belong to Weftworks Limited. You may use Platted for your own travel; nothing here gives you any other rights in it.
Changes to Platted
We keep improving Platted, so features may change. We will try to keep it running at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example when the live feed is down or while we fix something. If we ever stop offering Platted, we will tell you in the app and give you time to save your previous journeys.
Ending
You can stop using Platted at any time, and delete your account from Settings in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
If something goes wrong
If we fail to provide Platted with reasonable care and skill, you have rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away, or limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our failing, such as a missed train, a missed meeting or the cost of another ticket. Where the law lets us limit what we owe you, the limit is the amount you have paid for Platted in the 12 months before the problem.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters to how you use Platted or what you pay, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
